DNV GL have been participating since the start of Donsö Shipping Meet. What is it that makes you choose to come back?
Donsö is a unique maritime centre with a great deal of maritime competence and a high level of enterprise. DSM reflects the mix of knowledge and drive in a unique familiar way that creates belief in the future and optimism, which is an important aspect in realization of ideas and simply being able to do business.
DNV GL are sponsors for Donsö Shipping Meet. What contributed to this decision?
For us, being part of the maritime cluster with a high level of participation and great engagement in both new projects and daily operations it is only natural to support this kind of initiative. The maritime segment is characterized by competition and we believe that it is important to be able to gather around positive and future driven arrangements like this. Spinning on the theme ‘to believe is to want’ and with the knowledge so evidently present there is a lot that can be accomplished with joint forces.
What makes Donsö Shipping Meet stand out from other exhibitions?
There is a trend where big exhibitions become even bigger, and thereby less transparent and personal. DSM has a will of entrepeneurship, this just has to be good, that characterizes Donsö and creates a more personal atmosphere to discuss possibilities as opposed to the more industrial marketing square the bigger arrangements have become.
What are you hoping to get out of DSM15?
We are hoping to get the possibility to deepen the discussions with known partners in the trade and also make new acquaintances in a unique atmosphere. We are also hoping on a high turnout from shipping companies and operators who are the ones that are going to carry on their projects in the coming years. It is always elevating and refreshing to discuss with these people their view on the future and the possibility to be a part that contributes to these visions and ideas already from start.
And finally, which is your favorite christmas carol?
O, Helga natt (Oh, Holy night) with Swedish singer Tommy Körberg is a necessity at christmas.
