Hello there Bengt Sangberg!
Bureau Veritas supports DSM17 as Gold Sponsor. What contributed to make this decision?
Contributing to DSM17 was a welcome and great opportunity as DSM provides a great forum for the Maritime Industry from across the globe to share contemporary research and developments in the Maritime fields. Furthermore, the Swedish Maritime Cluster plays an important role in the shipping industry and co-operation and discussions with the Swedish shipping cluster is of great importance to Bureau Veritas. For our valued cooperation with ship-owners in particular on Donsö and in the Gothenburg area only emphasizes the importance of supporting the DSM.
Bureau Veritas has been participating since DSM started in 2009. What makes you come back year after year?
It has been a privilege and an honor to work with DSM for more than 8 years. DMS continue to provide a successful forum for the Marine Industry to share and exchange expertise and knowledge. Bureau Veritas is proud of being a part of this successful event, which advances the Marine Industry’s common business objectives.
What differs DSM from other Shipping events?
DSM is a perfect melting pot of innovation, collaboration, future-focused companies and talented individuals. DSM provides a different way of approaching the industry and marks a fresh way of thinking and for Bureau Veritas it is a great place to meet with shipowners, shipmanagers, shipyards and main equipment suppliers.
How would you describe DSM in one sentence?
Meet the World Maritime Industry at DSM2017!
What is your best memory from DSM2015?
The excellent feedback I received on my stylish red Bureau Veritas suit!
What are your expectations for DSM17?
Bureau Veritas expects that DSM17 once again will offer diverse and powerful speakers and provide an event line-up with a packed program of business and social gatherings. Bureau Veritas also hope that DSM17 once again will attract some of the world’s leading maritime companies showcasing new products and services to the industry, companies Bureau Veritas would like to meet and offer our services.
And finally, what is your best maritime memory?
One of the fondest maritime memories of my childhood refers to the time when I was just 5 years old. I was on summer holiday in Sweden and just learned that building any ship begins with design. I designed and built my first vessel that summer in three barks – definitely a Triple E design – as my bark vessel was efficient; it provided economy of scale and was environmentally friendly. The demand for environmentally-friendly or “green” vessels will increase as shipping companies focus on ways to reduce vessel emissions and it will always be a fond memory of mine to assist with these efforts in any way possible.
