Interview with Carl Forsman, Project Manager, AB DFS

DFS supports DSM2022 as Silver Sponsor and Logistics Partner. What contributed to make this decision?
We love DSM! It creates opportunities for everyone and the event itself is always a joy to participate in. Our company was founded at Donsö, it makes us proud to see so many people gathering there to do business and enjoy the exhibition. In other words, being a DSM-sponsor is natural for us at DFS. Who wouldn’t want to be a part of something this great?

What are your expectations for DSM2022?
Obviously 2022 will be a special year, the previous exhibitions have been amazing but I think all of us are even more excited this year… I hope that everyone who participates gets to (finally) enjoy a good time, face to face, with people who are eager to socialize and do business.

What is your best memory from DSM19?
There are many to choose from…. but the banquet is always special. Great food, entertainment, speakers and just seeing so many people having a good time after a long day of meetings and networking. It’s simply a wonderful experience!

Why is DSM important to your business?
Well, many of our customers and suppliers are there of course. Having the opportunity to discuss, network and do business with them at DSM is essential for us. Besides that you always meet someone who you didn’t have contact with before DSM, it’s a place where you create new business, learn things and often lay the groundwork for future ventures within your industry.

What do you find are the key issues facing the future of Shipping?
Personally I would say reducing the environmental impact of our industry. We are in dire need of innovation, collaboration and technological advancements to make sure we improve sustainability within all areas of shipping. I hope that some of the, very much needed, ideas regarding this subject are born at DSM2022.

And finally, how would you describe DSM in one sentence?
An amazing opportunity to meet people, do business, experience something unique and having a good time!
