If Skadeförsäkring AB supports DSM2023 as Silver Sponsor. What contributed to make this decision?
As a Nordic marine insurer where the Swedish shipping cluster is a large and central part, we want to support this unique event where such a large part of our partners, colleagues and friends are gathered on the island of Donsö.
What are your expectations for DSM2023?
To, once more, meet with all colleagues, partners and friends in the Nordic shipping cluster to network and enjoy the friendly and professional atmosphere unique to this event.
What is your best memory from DSM2022?
The new and immensely interesting Fishing meet was real treat and an addition I would like to experience again, as well as the fantastic “Donsö-spirit” that is so obvious in all aspects of the entire arrangement from the moment you set your foot on Donsö and that stays with you long after you leave.
What do you find are the opportunities and the biggest challenges in the Shipping Industry today?
Sustainable shipping where we consider ESG (Environment, Social and Governance) factors – are in our mind still the most important long-term challenge ahead. Short term we need to have our focus on the challenging security and energy situation in the region. We need to act consistently to safeguard all these aspects of our future, both near and distant.
How would you describe DSM in one word?
Essential – Both for the shipping cluster and us personally.
And finally, what is your best maritime memory?
Stefan had the opportunity to join some Donsö fishermen for seasonal lobster fishing at the end of September and, even though he is a master mariner with almost 15 years of seagoing experience before “going ashore”, this was something truly special to experience.
