DSM19

We are thankful to all that made DSM19 happen; sponsors, exhibitors, shipping companies, visitors, business partners, speakers and the great work force on the island of Donsö!  DSM19 Sponsors and Partners

For two days, around 2,100 delegates from 31 countries gathered to discuss shipping and shipping related topics. More than 700 representatives from a wide range of shipping companies and 290 exhibiting suppliers came to lend their perspectives, make new connections and forge new business opportunities. By the end of day one, 1950 seated guests enjoyed a three-course meal at the Banquet dinner in the Donsö harbor. The banquet dinner hosts more guests than the Nobel banquet in the Stockholm City Hall!

Once again the interest to participate in DSM19 was greater than ever and we expanded the facilities. Between pre-booked speed meetings and spontaneous meetings participants could attend a wide range of mini-seminars, and for the second time we presented seminars intended for HR and Crewing Personnel.

DSM19 Main sponsor Wärtsilä hosted the opening seminar: “Towards a zero-emission smart marine ecosystem”, presented by Roger Holm, President of Marine Business, Executive Vice President and member of the Board of Management, Wärtsilä Corporation.

All seminars and films from DSM19 are available on Donsö Shipping Meet Youtube channel.

News introduced during DSM19
Beside the Commercial Meet,  we introduced the Financing Meet with focus on financing sustainable shipping, challenges and opportunities. Both meetings had an impressive list of speakers, such as;  Johan Kuylenstierna, Stockholm University, Vice chair Swedish Climate Policy Council, Carl-Johan Hagman, head of Shipping & Ferries at Stena, Cecilia Malmström, European Commissioner for Trade, Carl-Henric Svanberg, Chairman of the Volvo Board and Alrik Danielson, President and CEO at SKF.  Have a look at the film from DSM19 Financing Meet here and the DSM19 Commercial Meet here.

We also hosted a Recruitement event the day before Donsö Shipping Meet. The purpose was to showcase the opportunities the industry offers, but also to inform about the trainings that lead to jobs in shipping. During the day more than 2000 students and teachers visited Donsö harbor and were guided on board several ships and got to know modern shipping. Opportunity was given to meet both crews and students who are educated in shipping, with the aim of learning more about the industry’s various careers and career paths. Greem Team Meeting
For the second time we were glad to welcome The Green Team Meeting, a cooperation for safer, more energy efficient and environmentally friendly transport at sea, hosted by HELCOM (helcom.fi) and the Council of the Baltic Sea States (cbss.org) to Donsö on September 3. The meeting was organized in parallel with DSM19 and held at a separate venue in Donsö. The Green Team is intended to be a joint cooperation platform that’s open to public sector institutions and governments, maritime businesses and civil society (NGOs) interested in working together to advance sustainable shipping at sea in the region.
